Billy's Story

Billy Neu was raised on the Hamilton Mountain. He attended St. Margaret Mary's and graduated from Sherwood Secondary School with Honours. Billy went on to pursue engineering at Western University and has just finished his third year. Whether it was academics or sports – Billy always excelled.

Billy is a great friend to many; is kind-hearted, easy going, all around great guy! Anyone who knows Billy, knows that he always has a smile on his face, along with a positive attitude towards life!

On June 4, 2010, Billy was involved in a life altering swimming pool accident. He suffered an extreme spinal cord injury that has left him as a paraplegic; he will never walk again. Billy remains hospitalized, currently undergoing rehabilitation treatment with the hope of coming home in early October.

To lessen the financial impact his family now faces, all proceeds raised from donations and community events will go towards the cost of renovating Billy's family home and vehicle; making them wheelchair accessible. It is also hoped that Billy will one day be able to return to school.

Billy and his family are truly grateful for the amazing outpour of love, support, and concern expressed by so many.
